The weather this time of year is generally mild with clear skys and lots of sunshine. Temperatures begin to fall and some mornings are cool. Winds vary from day to day but are reasonable most days.
Cooling waters and clear skies of the Tampa Bay - Saint Petersburg area slow the metabolism of the local fish. Species spanish and king mackerel are available on their migration back south. Redfish and seatrout can be found in the shallows warming themselves through the day. Reef and sand shark continue to provide great sport for the fall season.
