The weather this time of year is hot with strong sunshine. Thunderstorms start to build through the day. Winds are generally calm.
During the month of July the offshore reefs of the Tampa - Saint Petersburg area offer nice catchs of grunts and snapper. The water is alive with bait and the fish feed readily. Pompano schools can be found in the passes and along the gulf beaches. Inshore the seatrout and larger mangrove snapper are easily accessable.
